What makes this extra special is that Steph & I planned our proposals alongside each other - but they didn’t happen at the same time. I proposed to Ells in Canada, and then just a few days after we got back, we secretly flew out to Mallorca for Steph’s turn to propose to Pril.

Cue: navigating hotels, near-misses, and the absolute chaos of making sure Pril didn’t spot us the night before. Truly elite queer spy behaviour.

Merry Queermas to us 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Last year we hosted our very first Queermas - 12 of us, one Airbnb, the weekend before Christmas. We cooked a full Christmas dinner, played games, did Secret Santa, laughed until our faces hurt and started building traditions that actually feel like us.

Steph (she/her) & Zanna (she/her)

Steph & Zanna’s August wedding was the perfect reminder that there is no one way to do your day - and these two absolutely nailed doing it their way. Their ceremony was led by a very funny friend, lasted no more than 10 minutes, and set the tone for everything that followed: family, friends, joy, and a whole lot of laughing. Honestly… the vibes were immaculate from start to finish.

It was also such a gorgeous example of how we work intuitively with our couples. Rather than pulling them away from their people for a long portrait session, we dipped out for tiny pockets of time throughout the day - a few minutes here, a few minutes there - always keeping them in the flow of the party.

And the payoff?
A spontaneous 5-minute wander into golden hour, soft light spilling over the vineyards, and some of the dreamiest, most tender portraits. Nothing forced. Nothing staged. Just two people wildly in love, soaking up their day.

Weddings don’t have to follow a script. They don’t have to look a certain way. They just have to feel like you - and this one did in every single moment 🖤

Throwing this right back to a @loveforall_lgbtq session we did in May 2024!

For one reason or another I never fully edited these - I did one or two, and then… as life does, it lifed, and my little ADHD brain filed them away under “will absolutely remember this later” (I did not 😂)

Now we’re starting to wrap up the year, finalising our last 2025 weddings, and trying (and failing) to convince our constantly-whirring brains to switch off long enough to enjoy the holidays with our families. But before we disappear into mince pies and cosy jumpers, I wanted to sit with a bit of reflection instead of sprinting into “what’s next”.

Because honestly? The last two years of Rebel Love have been WILD.

We started as photography & videography… and now we’re a whole community, a movement, a slightly-chaotic queer engine room powering change in the wedding industry. We’ve grown into something bigger than just us - a collective effort to make weddings more inclusive, more affirming, more joyful, and actually safe for the LGBTQ+ community and all our intersections.

And we’re seeing it.
Tiny shifts. Micro wins.
People who once never thought about inclusivity now changing their language.
Suppliers stepping up, learning, unlearning, wanting to do better.
More and more LGBTQ+ to-be-weds finally feeling seen, valued, centred.

It might not feel huge every day, but babes… WE’RE DOING IT.
All of us. Together. 🖤

We are so endlessly grateful for everyone who has stood beside us, cheered us on, challenged the industry with us, shared our posts, booked us, trusted us, showed up for the directory, for the fairs, for the training, for the bigger vision. A wee throwback to when Emma (she/her) & Olly (he/him) tied the knot at @thesquareclub on May the 4th… and explicitly said “no Star Wars references, please.” Cue: their brother (aka ceremony leader) and half the guest list doing exactly the opposite hahahah.

This wedding made me realise - my “ideal client” doesn’t exist, it quite literally is someone that’s just kind and inclusive and these two had absolute HEARTS OF GOLD so it was a fecking joy to hang out with them for the day ❤️‍🔥

Barefoot wedding in the forest and a venue that was once a recording studio for the likes of Queen and Muse? Go one then.

When we first heard about Marina & Charlies wedding plans we were HOOKED. It was a glorious sunny day with a very unexpected shower in the afternoon but these folks had no qualms against my suggestion of “how do you feel about going to dance in it with your wedding party?”

Charlie’s custom @kingandallen suit also had the most beautiful detail - their late dog memoralised on the back of their waistcoat. The very pup who bought them together (Marinas a vet!). It was such a moving love story and told by none other than @chloegreencelebrant who helped them tie the knot whilst they stood barefoot under the trees.

✨ Charlie (she/they) & Marina (she/her)✨

Their woodland ceremony was straight out of a dream - held in a beautiful amphitheatre beneath a stretch tent, with the incredible @chloegreencelebrant guiding the magic.

Both Charlie and Marina spent the day barefoot (and encouraged their guests to do the same!) so the whole ceremony felt grounded, natural, and deeply connected to the earth.

The way they moved around each other, laughed with each other, and truly saw each other… it was like watching a fairytale unfold right in front of us. ✨

A day of freedom, connection, and love - just as it should be.

Both Charlie and Marina spent the day barefoot (and encouraged their guests to do the same!) so the whole ceremony felt grounded, natural, and deeply connected to the earth.

 Nope, it’s not a euphemism… it’s actually a weirdly wholesome wedding tradition to manifest good weather on your big day! ☀️

The idea? Bury a sausage, yes, a literal banger, in the ground the night before your wedding. Why? No one really knows. But legend has it, it brings sunshine, clear skies, and good vibes only.

It’s silly, a bit chaotic, and honestly? We’re obsessed. Because if it rains, at least you can say you did everything, including a last-minute sausage sacrifice to the weather gods.

So far, 100% of our to-be-weds who have done this have had success, so it’s definitely worth a go right!? 🤣

Since our last post introducing ourselves last year… what a ride we’ve been on! Since then, we’ve held our first LGBTQ+ wedding fair, launched the Education part of our business, moved into a beaut of an office and have grown the directory even further!

We’re Steff (she/they) & Ells (they/them) and we’re the founders of @rebellovecollective which is all about educating, creating community and uplifting LGBTQ+ folks in the wedding industry, both suppliers and to-be-weds.

Here on this account @rebelloveclub_ we are the lead photographer and videographer of a team of very talented queer folk, authentically capturing weddings and helping to provide a safer space 🖤✨

Honestly seeing the love between Lauren and her brothers throughout the whole day was healing because we often see (and experience in our own lives) strained relationships and difficult dynamics at LGBTQ+ weddings! These two were clearly buzzing for their trio to become a four and upheld their childhood promise of singing this banger from The Lion King.

Personally over here, we’re Team Whatever You Want. But some advice for either: if you’re going bubbles, get a few bubble guns and not those self-blow things that could epically fail you on the day. And if you’re going confetti, then paper circles or BIG petals are the one, we promise.
